Colour inspiration
Finding your perfect
colour combination
There's no wrong answer when it comes to colour — but sometimes a little inspiration helps. Here are some of our favourite ways to approach the choice, from colour theory to birthstones to pure instinct.
Colour theory
The colour wheel
Click anywhere on the wheel to explore a colour, then select a harmony style to see which colours work alongside it. These are the same principles used by artists, designers and jewellers the world over.
Complementary
Two colours directly opposite each other on the wheel. Bold, vibrant contrast — makes each colour pop. Great for a statement piece with two rings.
Analogous
Three colours sitting side by side on the wheel. Naturally harmonious and easy on the eye — a gentle gradient feel. Works beautifully across five rings.
Triadic
Three colours equally spaced around the wheel. Vibrant and balanced — playful without being chaotic. Pairs well with a neutral fourth ring.
Monochromatic
Shades and tones of a single colour. Deeply sophisticated — subtle variation within one colour family. Works especially well with our blues and greens.
Birthstones
Colours by birth month
Each month has a traditional gemstone associated with it. Our enamel palette includes colours that capture the spirit of each — a wonderful way to make a piece deeply personal, or to choose colours for someone you love.
Other ways to choose
More ways to find your colours
Colour theory and birthstones are just two starting points. Here are some of the most personal and unexpected ways our customers have arrived at their choices.
A person you love
Think of their favourite colour, their wardrobe, or the shade of something they always wear. A piece made with someone specific in mind carries that thought into every firing.
A place that matters
The blue of a favourite sea, the green of a particular hill, the terracotta of a city you visited. Colours rooted in a place carry the memory of it wherever the piece goes.
A season
Spring's pastel pink and lime green. Summer's aqua and yellow. Autumn's orange and mahogany. Winter's midnight blue and dark gray. Let the time of year guide you.
Your wardrobe
Look at the colours you actually wear most — the tones you reach for again and again. Jewellery that works with your existing wardrobe will be worn far more often.
Keep it simple
Sometimes the most striking pieces use just one colour repeated across all the rings, with silver between them. White, Black or Cobalt Blue — bold simplicity often wins.
Trust your instinct
If a colour catches your eye and makes you feel something — use it. The most meaningful pieces are often the ones chosen for no particular reason other than that they felt right.
